Each year since 1987 Takamine has offered a special model that would only be built one time and never again with the same configuration. Thus began the LTD program. Each of the LTD series instruments are interesting snapshots of the capabilities of the Takamine factory at that time. Over the years as the sophistication of the Takamine factory evolved, the design complexity of the LTD series reflected those changes. Following the ideals of MIYABI (asthetic detail dating back to the 11th century) Takamines silled guitars makers have created the latest example of of the art and craft of guitar making. The LTD 2010. For 2010 Takamine appies an entirely new technology to fuse traditional Kimono Cloth into an acrylic matrix to form stunning inlays and overlays to adorn this very special guitar. Based on a powerful cutaway dreadnaught design, the 2010 LTD features a select sitka spruce top and finiest rosewood backs and sides. The neck is magogany with an ebony fretboard finished in nickel silver frets and a nutwidth of 1-3/4 inch. Tuners are gold finished vintage open gear design. |

The ornate pickguard, rosette, body purfling, fretboard inlays and peghead facing are genuine kimono cloth fusded into a deep multi-dimensional look. The kimono cloth is black with delicate gold threading that sparkles under lights to give the guitar an amazing visual presence. Sonically, this guitar posesses all the power that players have come to expect from a Takamnine dreadnaught. The scalloped X bracing is hand carved and provides a careful balance of powerful lows, swet midrange and a high end sparkle. This beauty must be heard as well as seen, so the guitar is equipped with the Takamine Palathetic pickup system and the rich acoustic tone of the CTP-2 Cool Tube pre-amp.
