Not Takamine related (knock, knock Mike anybody there?) ...

But I've been listening to a few tracks on the new Eddie Vedder CD "Ukulele Songs". VERY NICE STUFF. I think it's fully released next week. Anybody else hear this stuff ?

I saw it mentioned.

I'm still listening to a bunch of Danny O'Keefe and John Cadley

Hello there,
As you said, Vedder's Ukulele Songs is terrific.
I'm not necessarily a Vedder Fan (although becoming on now), but since picking up my EF-591 MD, I've been interested in many things acoustic.
Collecting early (1920s-30s) jazz on 78 rpm records, I have come across many records featuring the ukulele on early pop and novelty tunes. Vedder's voice and obvious dedication to stringed instruments comes through on the record; by my ear, he is using a number of different small bodied ukuleles.
His playing is excellent, his voice is wonderful and the choice of tunes, perfect. I highly recomend the CD. I also picked up his DVD titled Water On The Road; it's great as well. Vedder on stage playing a number of guitars both electric and acoustic. Lot's of close-ups of his fingering technique. It's worth the money as well.
regards,
Chris.
