I just saw a Kenny Chesney video and he was playing a nice Tak on the beach. I was glad to see it because I've read a lot of press and comments from other bands making fun of people like Toby Keith for playing a Japanese guitar. Bottom line, you play the guitar that speaks to you, who cares where it comes from. And Taks sound better than the rest imho and they certainly are better when considering sound/price...so i think those characterizations are unwarranted and ignorant.

well if you really watch much Country you will see that some of the BIGGEST Artist like Toby Kenny Blake Joe and a ton of others play tack's and I am so way sure that they don't give a tinkers darn what any body says its pretty hard to get a bigger name than Toby Keith Kenny Chesney Blake Shelton in the country world

I did see that George Stright changed from his long time Guild to a Taylor

We all know alot goes on behind the curtain and I'm thinking it would be good promo for a company like Taylor to load up the backside of a few major and well established stars like George and Alan with some comp customs to broaden the image. The folks who play Taks like them and play them for what they are, self included. I was looking at an Eric Clapton sig Martin and almost pulled the string but after sleeping on it I'm ready for another Tak. I'm thinking a NEX bodied spruce over solid Hog with ebony board and pinnless split saddle w/ ebony bridge when it becomes a Tak model. Basically a Hog version of my beloved TSF48C. Mike, if you read this I will be your first customer.

Best,

Blues

PT,
My favorite combo is spruce over rosewood. That said I've been playing more fingerstyle than anything lately (even electric blues) and have been working on some Robert Johnson stuff. I'm hankerin' to hear some spruce over hog so we'll see what materializes. As I get older (and you know what I mean) I don't have nearly the guitar stash that I had as a younger man however the GAS never gives up the ghost.

Best,

Blues

Spruce over hog cutaway NEX is totally do-able. I might try to talk you out of the ebony bridge but we could build one for ya.

Mike,
Of course as I make plans for another beloved instrumental acquisition my wife has informed me that her heart is set on new hardwood floors to grace our humble abode and not without good reason, thus the $$$$ alocation will be directed to the newly scheduled home improvement. Not forgotten or derailed is my plan for the afore mentioned spruce hog. I will continue to plot my ideal configuration and contact you reguardiing the particulars at the appropriate time. In the meantime I will continue to lust after my next Takamine acquisition be it a custom order or a suitable production model that might catch my eye.

Best,

Blues

My heart has a bad habit of rationalizing an awful lot more than what my wallet is willing to give up.

Heart usually wins. :-)
