First choice, Genuine Tortoise shell approximately 1mm gauge triangle shape.
Second favorite, Blue Chip TAD 40.
Third favorite, Dunlop Ultex Tri.

and that's how I roll... 8)......................................Uh, Rock & Roll.

Totally agree with the 1st two Willie except my Blue Chip is a CT55.

For my third pick it is whatever I happen to have in my pocket when I am out (cause I normally don't take out the tortoise or the BlueChip)

I use Fender 351's abalone mediums, they're inexpensive and white so I can see them in most of my playing envirnments. Just in case I drop them.

I use different kinds of picks for different styles of music when playing:
- Handcrafted stone pick (brilliant sound!)
- Propik finger & thumb picks (www.guptillmusic.com)
- Dunlop 0.60 & 1.14

Blue Chip TPR 50s.

Took me a long time to accept the notion of a $35 pick but after finally taking the plunge, I am glad I did.

Just make sure you keep a close eye on them so they don't walk off.

I had a biglong story all typed up, and when I went to post it had to log in again, and the biglong story was lost.

Anyway, in the years since my last post on this old thread, I collected LOTS of spendy picks, all shapes, sizes, brands, thicknesses, materials. It got ridiculous.

Finally I've picked a winner, and I'm back where I started. Red Bear. I like the people, the selection of styles, thicknesses, and colors, and the fact that their material comes closest to real tortoise when you give the "tabletop test" and listen for that pokerchip clink.

Now you know that.
