Here's one I got the idea driving to Serges. Wrote it going home, finished it this week
A sign of the times
Sign Of The Times by bill Kaman 2-11-10
(C)Daughter lost her (D)job, my son did too(G) (C)How’s all this (D)change working out for (G)you? (C)You can’t trust the (D)Government, you gotta (G)read be(G/F#)tween the (Em)lines (C)It’s just a (D)sign of the times(G)
Paper says the mill is closing down Not much left to this old town Three hundred more in the unemployment line It’s just a sign of the times
Driving down highway 49 Plywood windows, for sale signs Empty parking lots, grass growin between the lines It’s just a sign of the times
The (D)passing days of our (G)lives (C)Churches full on (Am)Sundays (F)Collection plates are (C)dry And it’s(F) not be(C)cause they didn’t (G)try D, C, G, D, C, G, Em, C, Am, F, C, G
Time to dig up the back yard Plant tomatoes, beans and rhubarb We can grow lots of things, and feed ourselves just fine It’s another sign of the times
What’s it take to get the message through? No one ever tells the truth The facts are all distorted, black and white’s a fuzzy line And that’s the sign of our times
The Florida House has shut down The City Fathers ran them out of town (C)We don’t miss or (D)water, un(G)til the (G/F#)well runs (Em)dry (C)That’s just the (D)way we live these (G)times (G/F#, Em) (C)The passing (D)days of our(G)lives (G/F#, Em) (C)Just another (D)sign of the (G)times

That's a seriously good song, Beal. I'd like to hear you play it. Open mike?

Nice!
I just put the finishing touches on my "running" song. Actually got it done with a few weeks to spare this time.
Now I just need to memorize all the damn words and be able to play it, chew gum, and sing at the same time.

Great song, Bobbo. You sound like like a cross between Tom Petty and someone else that I can't put my finger on right now. Really good, though.
And Beal, will you please record song that and post it!
