Hi how are you? A few days ago I found on the Internet those 2 models of Takamine guitar.

I wonder if anyone can help me with some information about them. I Looked around but I can't found much information.

Are there better than the classic 132? What does the letters "SR" and "SH" means?

How many models does the "C" line have?

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks in advance!!!

I have a C-140SH, made in 1975, that I bought new in 1980. It's a good guitar, and I'm still fond of it. Like all old Takamines, the "S" designates a solid-wood top, cedar in this case. Somewhere in the Takamine Forum archives, several years ago, someone posted pages from an old Takamine sales brochure, where the C-132, 140 and 150 models were shown and their respective features were listed. I don't have time to dig, but I do remember that the "H" designation meant the guitar was built to take high-tension strings. Of course it works fine with regular nylon strings.

I don't know about "better" than the C-132S, but in the brochure the 140 and 150 models stepped up in price from there. Forum poster Dogmother (archives again) said her 150 appeared to have an ebony fretboard. I wonder too if the backs aren't solid on the higher-priced models.
